Steam Iron Reviews - Rowenta DZ5080Providing a smooth nonstick surface with excellent glide, the Rowenta DZ5080 features a thin stainless-steel soleplate with 400 micro steam holes to deliver perfect steam distribution.

The iron combines electronic temperature sensors and controls with LED lights in an easy-to-use system. Red signals too hot, yellow signals too cool, and green signals an ideal temperature for the fabric.

The iron also provides a self-cleaning system that removes loose mineral deposits and flushes out impurities for clean steam performance. Other highlights include a soft-grip handle for comfort, a large soft-touch rear for extra stability when set on its heel, a large 10-ounce water tank, a covered filling inlet, an anti-drip system, and an easy-to-use precision dial.

For safety, a three-way automatic shutoff function turns the iron off after eight minutes if vertical and after 30 seconds if horizontal or tipped over.

  • 1700-watt iron with stainless-steel nonstick soleplate
  • Electronic temperature control; LED lights; precision dial
  • High-precision tip; 10-ounce water tank; self-cleaning system
  • Burst, variable, and vertical steam; 3-way auto shutoff for safety

Choose the powerful burst of steam option to help iron out stubborn wrinkles, or select variable steam that matches the right amount of steam to the fabric type.

Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the Rowenta DZ5080:

I like to use a lot of steam when I iron, and the focus comes up to temperature fast and makes great evenly distributed steam. The automatic steam function works pretty well and is easy to use, but I tend to add a bit more as much because it makes ironing more fun as any useful reason.
This iron did a spectacular job on my more delicate silk shirts as well as making quick work of rumpled khakis. The heat seems more evenly distributed than the Black and Decker I was using, and everything about the steam is superior. (Charlie A. Terry)

Here are some great features of the Rowenta DG5030:

  • 1750 watts of power; 33-ounce water tank provides 1-1/2 hours of continual use
  • Powerful vertical steam allows iron to be used in an upright position
  • Variable steam control means to easily adjust output levels for different fabric types
  • Highly polished stainless-steel soleplate; ergonomic trigger for immediate steam on demand

Also the pressurized steam penetrates quicker and deeper into the fabric, providing professional quality ironing quickly.

Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the Rowenta DG5030:

Having had the dry cleaners destroy several of my custom shirts, I went back to ironing my own stuff about a year ago. I bought a cheaper Rowenta from Target at that time, and while it was generally a good iron, it didn’t stand that far apart from the competition.

I’ve now had the Rowenta DG5030 for about a month, and used it 5-6 times. One tip, it will spit a bit when you first fire it up, so press the trigger a few times before you actually start ironing.

There is simply no comparison between this and a “normal” iron. You can literally iron a shirt in about 4 minutes, as you need only iron one side. You can also freshen silk and synthetic garments with the steam, saving big $$ on dry cleaning. (Edwin A. Easterby)

Panasonic NI-C78SRThe Panasonic NI-C78SR has a stainless-steel curved nonstick soleplate that provides smooth, gentle gliding, and its temperature ranges from 176 to 392 degrees F to accommodate a variety of different fabrics. Turn the temperature dial to choose from five fabric settings; a handy reference chart for fabrics and temperatures comes printed on the iron’s base.

For added convenience, use the iron’s push-button spray mist to direct extra moisture where it’s needed most or the jet-of-steam function for a powerful burst of steam to blast away stubborn wrinkles–or to clean the steam vents after ironing.

To ensure safety, the steamer’s electronic sensor automatically shuts off the iron after 10 minutes if left upright on its heel rest or after 60 seconds if left unmoved on its soleplate or if tipped over on its side.

Very nice iron – especially for the price I paid on Amazon.com. It has a removable water tank which makes it easier to fill without making a mess. Nice, very polished stainless steel soleplate which glides easily over clothes. Has an anti-calcium system to prevent buildup caused by hard water which can block the steam system. (Mark R. Graves)

Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the Rowenta DW9080:

I hate to iron, but this iron makes ironing so much easier. My DH loves to iron his clothes (bless his heart) and our old iron was leaking like Niagara falls. So I decided to treat him to a high end iron. After a lot of research (I always research my purchases), I purchased the latest model from Rowenta. Ironing now is so much easier and it cuts the work in half. I don’t need to iron my pants front and back. (Liz)

The professional cork handle provides hours of fatigue-free ironing, and the steam tube can be attached to either side of the boiler to accomodate either left- or right-handed people. All this and more in a beautiful professional ironing system that is backed by a three-year guarantee.

Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the DeLonghi Stiromeglio Compact PRO 300:

We just got this product and we love it! The iron generates really powerful steam that reduces time by half. The iron itself is really light, which helps as well. We used to spend no more than $50 for an iron that we would throw away after 1-2 years of frustration: heavy, not powerful (always check wattage before buying an iron!) and losing ability to deliver heat over time.
